3 Ektory Workshops DIY Fans Must Attend
With more couples incorporating DIY elements to personalise their big day and make it as Instagrammable or Pinterest-perfect as possible, it's little wonder that many independent bridal vendors — florists, calligraphers, home bakers and wedding stylists, are conducting small, intimate workshops to teach their craft to DIY enthusiasts.
Ektory, best known for its signature floral wall creations and artistic displays featuring stunning hand-made paper blooms, wants to spread its love and passion for handcrafted art by organising three workshops this December. Participants will learn first-hand how to create a gorgeous work of art from scratch and get great tips from the experts. Here are the workshop details:
Pressed Edible Botanicals Workshop (Ektory X Mamakan)
Experience the unique combination of local edible botanicals with handcrafted art.
The workshop begins with a nearby tour to Mamakan, a Danish/Singaporean contemporary artist, as she brings participants to her urban home garden to discover and learn about local edible florals and plants.
After the tour, participants will relax and enjoy some tea before getting creative in the Ektory studio — where founder, Dawn, will teach the class how to style and preserve edible plants as a piece of educational art for the home or office (it'd be a great decor element for a wedding reception too!). Scientific names of the botanicals will be printed on labels made from eco-friendly paper, as part of the framed art. The flowers and plants will be harvested two weeks in advance by Mamakan, pressed by Ektory staff, and provided at the workshop.
