25 SEP – 15 OCT: Raffles Prism Virtual Reality Fashion Show

What if you could experience the thrill of watching a full-fledged fashion show in a mall? Yes, Raffles College of Higher Education wants you to do just that. Head on down to Paragon (main atrium) from Sep 25 - Oct 15 to experience Prism, the college's very first Virtual Reality Fashion Show. Brought to you by the school’s Fashion Marketing and Multimedia Design students, Paragon and Samsung’s VR gear, the virtual fashion show will present 11 designer collections by Raffles’s graduating cohort with a 360-degree view.

14-22 OCTMonaco Film Festival

The Monaco Government Tourist and Convention Authority will be hosting the Monaco Film Festival this October in Singapore – a first for an Asian country. Known for its ultimate glamour, rich history and picturesque scenery, the Principality of Monaco – also known as the crown jewel of the French Riviera – will welcome festival-goers for a 9-day long showcase of fab featured films from 14-22 October 2017 at the Alliance Française de Singapour and at the Capitol Theatre. Sit back and enjoy local theatre company Pangdemonium’s rendition of the famous Tony award-winning musical, Fun Home, at the National Library’s Drama Centre. Based on Alison Bechdel’s best-selling autobiographical memoir, this gripping coming-of-age tale is certainly one to share with your family this weekend. More info here.

27 - 30 OCT: Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair 2017

Mark your calendars as the most anticipated fine jewellery and gemstones fair in the region – SJGF 2017 – returns for its fifth edition this year. Staged from 27 to 30 October 2017 at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands (Hall A & B), SJGF 2017 will bring together a one-stop marketplace for jewellery and gemstones. Practice Tuckshop, one of The Theatre Practice’s key creative initiatives, returns with “Space of Our Home” this October, and will introduce an all-new game programme called the Waterloo Street Crawl - a unique walking trail designed for participants to undertake a journey of what it means to be ‘local’. Following the past three seasons, Practice Tuckshop will also continue to offer a range of snacks and drinks, including refreshing and unique sparkling tea, popsicles and more. 3 - 5 NOV: Buy to Save 2017
Snag pre-loved high-end designer brands at a fraction of their original prices at this annual three-day pop-up sale! More importantly, 80% of net proceeds from Buy To Save will support the Singapore Committee for UN Women’s advocacy against gender-based violence, including outreach through the “Help Anna” campaign and “Her Justice” workshops in Singapore. Plus, 10% of net proceeds will fund UN Women Cambodia Roka Commune project, to empower women living with HIV and to secure livelihoods. Another 10% of net proceeds will fund the UN Women Safe Cities Metro Manila Programme, to reduce the risks of sexual harassment and violence in public spaces.

10 - 12 NOV: Boutiques Fair Singapore 2017

To be held at the F1 Pit Building from Nov 10-12, the shopping event will showcase over 200 independent designers across two floors. This is the first time Boutiques has extended its standard two-day set-up (for the last 15 years) to a three-day affair. Plus: 80% of vendors are socially responsible and 90% of participating brands will be launching new products or collections exclusively at Boutiques!
