When It Comes to Fann Wong’s Skincare Routine, Less is More
The newly-minted ambassador for Shiseido Ultimune arrived to much fanfare at her interview session earlier on Wednesday (31st August) at the swanky 1-Altitude Bar. Seasoned journos awaited her arrival – almost impatiently – with their fanngirl mode switched right on, phone at the ready for a selfie opportunity.
And then, it was announced Fann would arrive in three minutes. True enough, the international artiste and mother-of-one arrived on the dot in a silky red frock, paired with preppy striped socks and matching scarlet stilettos. She looked elegant, no doubt, but I'd like to think that her best accessories were a glowing complexion and her mega-watt smile.
We hear your skincare routine involves more than 10 steps… is it true?
Oh yes. Maybe 12. Before I had Zed (her adorable two-year-old son, with husband Christopher Lee), I’d indulge in facials, daily face masks, and the usual suspects: scrub, cleanser, toner and more. As a mother of an active little boy, however, I no longer have time for such an elaborate routine! Now I stick to the basics, so I have more time for Zed.
Are there any beauty steps you’d never give up on?
The basics: drink plenty of water, exercise, and proper cleansing. I have to wash my face and hair before bedtime, and I will make sure my pillowcase is clean. Also, understand your own skin and what works for you.
Do you share any of your skincare products with your husband?
Christopher steals my skincare must-haves! (guffaws) He’s very smart — he’d try the ones I use often, like the Shiseido Ultimate Power Infusing Concentrate.
Between eternal youth or graceful aging, which would be your pick?
(pauses) I believe you need to strike a balance, as with all things. For me, I’d go for graceful ageing. You can’t stay young forever, can you? Ageing is a natural progression; once you accept it for what is, you’ll be at peace with yourself, and naturally look good.
