Fall 2016’s Trending Make-Up Looks
When we think fall beauty trends, deep dark hues of plums and burgundies come to mind. This year, however, we’re not aiming for a full-on matte gothic look.
Instead, think glam with a dash of glitter to give you that extra oomph – Edward Cullen exposed to sunlight is the look we’re going for. It’s all about the glitter and glow – no matter if it’s the lips, face or eyes.
We teach you how to shine bright this Fall.
Lips: The Glitter Pout
From luscious berries to straight-up black, dark and dramatic hues are undeniably a must-have this season.
Matte liquid lipsticks may have stolen the spotlight the last few months with releases from just about every brand, but it’s time to change it up with a glossy lip. We're not just talking about a light sheen, we’re talking ultra-wet lacquered lips.
And if you’re up for pushing it a little further, dust on some glitter.
If you’ve been on social media this past week and spotted Shay Mitchell, Chrissy Teigen and Bella Hadid’s show-stopping glitter lips or caught the recent MTV VMAs and fell in love with Naomi Campbell’s pout, you’d know what we’re talking about. Yup, move over Kylie! A new lip kit is the talk of the Internet right now.
Renowned make-up artist Pat McGrath has brought a new wave of glittery lips after releasing her Pat McGrath Labs Lust 004 Kit. The basic kit comes with two matte lipsticks, gloss, gold pigment and micro-fine glitter, all of which can be used individually or together to create a look straight from the pages of your favorite fashion magazine. The kits come in three shades – Flesh (nude), Vermillion Venom (red) and Bloodwine (burgundy).
Pat McGrath Lust 004 Everything Kit
The five-piece kit goes for $60 (S$ 81.55) while the larger Everything Kit is sold for $150 (S$ 203.87). Unfortunately, the kits are sold out on www.patmcgrath.com, but they'll hit Sephora.com (US) on Thursday, 8th September.
Eyes: Shimmer and Shine
If glitter lips aren’t enough, shimmering eyeshadow will surely catch the light.
Whether it’s a touch of eyeshadow in the corner of the eye or reflective pigments across your entire lid, don’t be afraid to explore this Fall. It is all about intergalactic shimmer after all – forget the natural ‘no make-up make-up’ look.
If you don’t want to play around with eyeshadows, let’s try modern and graphic strokes with your fave eyeliner. Go beyond the simple flick – a flash of futuristic silver is a surefire way to raise your beauty game.
Face: Radiate and Illuminate
Healthy fresh skin and intense highlight has been trending for seasons, but it has taken on an almost hyper-real radiance for Fall.
Iridescent powder on the cheekbones, brow bone and cupid's bow to highlight the high points of your face is already a daily ritual for most of us glam girls. So how can we take it up a notch? By adding on more layers of cult-favorites like Becca’s Champagne Pop or The Balm’s Mary-Lou Manizer? Hmm...maybe not.
Upgrade your beauty look with glitter and sequins, of course! Dab on a little glitter or some reflective sequins for that extra shine on areas you normally highlight.
