Beauty Trend: All Things Coral
It seems like Millennial Pink will soon be dethroned by a classic summer shade — coral. As revealed by Pinterest, the chatter for coral lip shades is up by 115%, while interest in coral nail polish has risen by 925% since the start of the year. You don’t have to look hard through the Spring ’18 runways for a dash of bright orange either — big names like Calvin Klein, Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs are loving the look.
While it can be tricky to pull off, it doesn't mean that you can’t have fun with the statement shade. Check out our list below if you need some #inspo!
Sunset Coral Hair
By Chris Weber / Instagram
What do you get when you mix a bright, punk rock-orange with pink? A gorgeous, subdued hue of coral. Aptly named ‘sunset coral’ by hairstylist Chris Weber, this dreamy colour is reminiscent of long walks by the beach at twilight, or cool July evenings. It works well with both dark and light-coloured hair bases, so it’s definitely worth a try if you need to shake things up a little!
Creamy Coral Lips
This pastel shade of coral is perfect for lighter, Asian skin tones and versatile enough for all occasions. Tip: Complement it with copper eye shadow and a rosy blush for a romantic springtime look.
Hot Coral Lips
Like its distant cousin hot pink, this shade of coral is not for the faint-hearted. If you’re into bold, attention-grabbing beauty looks, however, hot coral is your colour this season. Pantone’s Fashion Colour Trend Report also cited ‘Cherry Tomato’, a derivative of orangey red, as a top 12 Spring ’18 colour. So, if you want to channel Cara Delevingne’s runway look above, go for Dior’s Addict Lacquer Stick in Party Red.
